Our Mission
Missoula Poker Tournaments Tournament
To improve quality of life and provide otherwise inaccessible experiences to individuals and families whose lives have been affected by a life altering injury or disability.
The I Run For Bob Foundation was founded in memory and honor of Missoula Police Sergeant Bob Heinle. Bob was shot in the line of duty in October of 1998 – the injury left him a high-level quadriplegic. After his injury, Bob lived a very full and active lifestyle despite his physical limitations. He fished, hunted and elevated his quality of life with the aid of adaptive equipment. Our hope is to help others with limited abilities enjoy activities that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
Missoula Poker Tournaments 2019
As a Montana non-profit organization, I Run For Bob's primary mission is to help others with physical limitations purchase adaptive recreation equipment. Adaptive equipment is substantially more costly than basic gear and typically must be custom designed or adapted for each individual's needs and ability. Insurance companies rarely recognize recreation equipment as medically necessary. Activities such as skiing, cycling, fishing, hunting, rafting, etc. improve the quality of our life, but the equipment needed to enable participation is costly; finding the funding to help with the purchase of such equipment is difficult. This is where we step in. If you or someone you know is in this situation, please look into our grant program and submit an application for funding. We recognize the tremendous mental and physical health benefit recreation contributes to all our lives and our goal is to help people of all abilities enjoy activities with family and friends.
